Soelberg Industries – Table Tops

Case Study: Custom Table and Desk Tops

Blending Materials for Modern Workspaces

As part of Soelberg Industries’ commitment to innovation, we developed a line of custom table and desk tops that seamlessly combined vibrant digital acrylic surfaces with a durable 0.75-inch plywood or solid wood sublayer. This thoughtful material pairing not only ensured stability but also provided a visually striking finish, with layered textures and colors enhancing their modern appeal.

Precision and Craftsmanship in Every Detail

The creation process leveraged advanced production techniques, starting with CNC-cut digital acrylic panels. Vibrant patterns and colors were applied via flatbed printing, ensuring a flawless, high-quality surface. Precision machining was then used to laminate the acrylic onto the plywood or solid wood sublayer, followed by CNC profiling to achieve clean, elegant edge angles that revealed the natural wood layers.

Functional and Stylish Solutions for Professionals

These desks and tables were designed with both aesthetics and functionality in mind. Sleek undercut and overcut edges highlighted the craftsmanship, while sturdy base hardware ensured lasting performance. The result was a versatile product line tailored to complement the professional spaces already transformed by Soelberg’s innovative designs.

A Seamless Process for High-Quality Results

From conceptualization to final production, this project was a testament to streamlined manufacturing. After adhering the acrylic to the plywood, each piece underwent precise CNC trimming to create the desired profiles. Hardware installation and careful packaging ensured the tables were ready for easy assembly and seamless integration into commercial environments.

Leveraging Production Expertise to Shape Innovation

My hands-on experience with CNC machines, flatbed printers, laminators, and various production methods played a pivotal role in the development of this product line. With a deep understanding of how to operate and optimize these technologies, I was able to collaborate closely with the owner to refine the concept and bring it to life.

Using the CNC machine, I ensured precision in cutting both the digital acrylic and plywood layers, achieving the clean profiles and striking edge reveals that became signature features of the product. The flatbed printer allowed me to test and perfect vibrant patterns and colors directly on the acrylic, while laminators provided the seamless bonding required for durability and long-term performance.

This practical, technical expertise not only streamlined the production process but also enabled us to balance quality with efficiency, ensuring that the product line was both visually impactful and cost-effective. By bridging the gap between design and manufacturing, I helped transform initial concepts into a cohesive and scalable product offering tailored to modern professional environments.
