Case Study: Muto Acoustic Felt Baffles

Bordo Baffles

Characterized by abrupt, extreme straight angles, these baffles create a bold and dynamic ceiling feature with maximum visual impact.

Guesto Baffles

Featuring sweeping, deep waves that vary in intensity across their span, Guesto Baffles add movement and rhythm to ceilings, blending form with function.

Quadro Baffles

Engineered for increased rigidity and structure, Quadro Baffles include a 1/2-inch wrapped stiffener, ensuring both durability and a clean, geometric look that enhances acoustic performance.

Plywood Baffles

A hybrid design that combines Muto Felt with high-quality 0.75-inch birch plywood. Various pattern options are adhered to the felt, framed by a gracious offset reveal, delivering an organic and refined aesthetic.

The Process

Inspired by the success of the Muto Divider Panels, the development of the baffle line began with leveraging existing production techniques while adapting them for overhead applications. Each design underwent rigorous prototyping to test structural stability, acoustical efficiency, and aesthetic appeal. CNC routing was used to craft precise shapes, while custom hanging systems were developed to ensure ease of installation across diverse environments.

Collaboration with architects and interior designers was integral to refining these products, ensuring they met the unique needs of each space. From corporate offices to hospitality venues, the baffles were designed to adapt seamlessly while offering high-impact design options.

Redefining Acoustic Design

The Muto Acoustic Felt Baffles transformed how acoustic materials are integrated into professional spaces. By expanding the application of Muto Felt to ceilings, these baffles turned functional elements into standout design features. The result was a product line that balanced aesthetics, acoustics, and versatility, offering innovative solutions for clients seeking to create cohesive, sound-optimized spaces from floor to ceiling.
